How they differ
Both are plant polyphenols sold as antioxidant supplements and they belong to different classes. Quercetin is a flavonoid, a three-ring structure with five hydroxyl groups, and it is one of the most abundant flavonoids in the ordinary diet, concentrated in onion skin, capers, apples and tea. Resveratrol is a much simpler stilbene, two rings joined by a double bond, found in grape skin, red wine and Japanese knotweed, and it became famous through the French paradox.
